Aug 28, 2025 - FASSelangor FC missed the chane to bring home three points from the Sultan Tuanku Rahman Stadium in Paroi after a 2-1 defeat to Negeri Sembilan FC in the 2025/26 Super League yesterday.
The match began with several attempts from both sides, before Selangor FC took the lead in the 12th minute through the first goal of the #NSESFC. Richmond Ankrah converted Mohammad Abualnadi’s pass with a header into the net following a corner from Alvin Fortes. Selangor continued to create chances throughout the game, however, Negeri Sembilan FC substitute, Mio Tsuneyasu equalised in the 83rd minute and then scored the winning goal for The Jangs in the sixth minute of stoppage time (90+6’).
According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, the team was punished for not capitalising on the chances, but he hopes the players will stay united and come back stronger in their next outing.
“The continuous attacks, especially from Faisal Halim and Chrigor Moraes, were very exciting, but we were unable to increase our lead and were ultimately punished. The extended goalless period gave the opposition confidence, allowing them to grow stronger and eventually score the equaliser and the winner.
We may have lost this time, but the players must remain united and respond with a better performance in the next match,” he explained during the post-match press conference.
Next, the Red and Yellow squad have one more fixture, against Terengganu FC for the 4th match of the 2025/26 Super League. The match will be held at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya at 8:15pm, before the league pauses for the September 2025 international break. Get your tickets for #SFCTER here: link
